The current visitors center will be refurbished and used for staff offices and support services.
The indoor part of the new center is the arrival building, which, at 2,000 square feet, has traditional exhibits. It also will house a gift shop and restrooms.
The outdoor portion takes a creative approach and doesn't cut up exhibits into the usual categories, like geology, cultural history, flora and fauna. Instead, the focus is the elements of nature: Earth, air, fire and water.

The 64MW Nevada Solar One concentrated solar power plant went online in the USA June 2007. With 400 acres of solar concentrators, Nevada Solar One has become the third biggest solar thermal power plant in the world.

CORE Construction’s 12,543-square-foot office building boasts natural lighting for every office and hallway; recycled insulation from denim jeans; recycled glass floors; a heating/cooling system that operates on a carbon dioxide sensor; dedicated recycling area; pervious concrete in parking areas to recharge groundwater; landscaping from recycled concrete of the pre-existing sidewalk; and generates electricity through 99 photovoltaic panels.

The two-story building contains 42,587 square feet of space that includes six classrooms, two tutoring/auxiliary classrooms, five laboratories and 48 faculty offices. It will be the first official building for the school, and the remaining portion of the land may include retail components, residential condominiums and multiple academic facilities.

Construction of Nevada largest municipal community center/aquatics complex in the City of Las Vegas. The project includes approximately 98,385 square feet of building space, two indoor swimming pools and two outdoor swimming pools, outdoor amenity areas, site work, off-site work, utility work, and complete right-of-way improvements for the re-alignment of Deer Springs Way. The project site is on approximately 20.5 acres of BLM owned land, under lease to the City of Las Vegas.
